Overview

Kathleen Nicholas is a senior policy advisor in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the Public Policy & Regulation Group. Ms. Nicholas has spent more than 15 years working at the intersection of law, policy and politics, with a focus on emerging technologies, critical materials and supply chain vulnerabilities within the defense industrial base.

Whether bolstering biomanufacturing, hypersonics testing and evaluation infrastructure or other areas, Ms. Nicholas leads client engagements with a nexus at the U.S. Department of War and congressional budgeting priorities. She has experience developing and implementing multiple complex policy strategies for a wide range of clients, including publicly traded companies, trade associations and nonprofit organizations.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Nicholas was a government affairs analyst for an international law firm in its Washington, D.C., office.

Previously, Ms. Nicholas served as staff to the U.S. Senate's Select Committee on Ethics, where she handled constituent correspondence and assisted in the compliance review of various required disclosure reports. In addition, she served as a congressional and public affairs intern with the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration. In that role, she assisted with the tracking the agency's annual budget request and authorization legislation on Capitol Hill.
