Overview

Steve Rasch is a trial lawyer in Holland & Knight's Dallas office. Mr. Rasch focuses his practice on complex business litigation and arbitration.

Mr. Rasch represents clients in a wide variety of commercial litigation matters. He has substantial experience in cases involving director and officer liability, corporate governance, hedge funds, lending institutions, shareholder disputes involving closely held corporations, securities fraud, non-compete agreements and restrictive covenants, misappropriation and theft of trade secrets, and trust and estate disputes. He has also defended consumer class action cases. 

Mr. Rasch has practiced for more than 30 years and has appeared in courtrooms across the United States, handling cases in California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. He has tried cases in state and federal courts around Texas, including jury cases tried to verdict in Dallas, Houston, Sherman, Longview and Kerrville.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Rasch was a partner at a large Dallas-based law firm. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joseph T. Sneed of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Rasch currently serves on the Holland & Knight Directors Committee and is active in the community.

  • Represented a toxicology laboratory in case involving misappropriation and theft of trade secrets and confidential information
  • Represented a law firm in class action lawsuit involving tax shelter transaction
  • Represented a closely held corporation in connection with shareholder derivative litigation
  • Represented shareholders of a closely held corporation in case involving allegations of stock fraud in connection with the transfer of rights to coronary stent technology
  • Represented a hedge fund in cases involving breach of agreements for private investment in public equity (PIPE) transactions
  • Represented corporate officers and directors in case involving allegations of breach of fiduciary duty
  • Represented an international luxury hotel and resort company in connection with claims asserted by developer with respect to a hotel project in Dubai
  • Represented a hospitality provider of asset management services in dispute involving advisory agreement with publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT)
  • Represented an international oil exploration and production company in tortious interference lawsuit involving oil concession rights in the Middle East
