Overview

Lee Sands is a labor and employment attorney in Holland & Knight's Nashville office. Mr. Sands advises clients on the full spectrum of workforce-related matters arising in corporate transactions and day-to-day business operations.

Mr. Sands regularly partners with corporate deal teams to identify and assess labor and employment risks in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. His transactional practice includes conducting employment-related due diligence, analyzing workforce liabilities and advising on integration planning and post-closing compliance. Mr. Sands also drafts and negotiates executive employment agreements, severance arrangements, restrictive covenants and separation packages.

In addition to his transactional work, Mr. Sands provides ongoing counsel to employers on labor and employment compliance, helping clients develop and maintain workplace policies, handbooks and best practices under federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and applicable state statutes.

Mr. Sands' experience spans a range of industries, including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing and technology.
