Benjamin R. Wilson


Benjamin R. Wilson is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Philadelphia office, where he is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Wilson has a diverse litigation practice, representing clients in commercial disputes, including claims of breach of contract, business torts, breach of fiduciary duty, defense and indemnity rights, and cases involving the Uniform Commercial Code. In the area of alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Wilson has represented foreign and domestic clients in arbitral disputes before the International Chamber of Commerce and American Arbitration Association.

Mr. Wilson's recent representative experiences include: 

  • representing a pharmaceutical distributor in its prosecution of commercial claims against a foreign manufacturer in international arbitration 
  • defending majority shareholders, officers and directors of a large fuel oil distributor against allegations of shareholder oppression, corporate waste and fiduciary breaches
  • obtaining a multimillion-dollar judgment for a secured aircraft lessor in a breach of contract action and pursuing enforcement actions against a foreign judgment debtor to compel satisfaction
  • securing pre-answer dismissal of claims of fraudulent conveyance and violations of state debtor and creditor laws
  • contributing to successful capital habeas petition, Buck v. Davis, 137 S. Ct. 759 (2017)
  • securing interpleader relief on behalf of an investment entity and its manager and thereafter obtaining a substantial fee award

In addition to his commercial practice, Mr. Wilson has represented companies in internal investigations relating to allegations of misconduct and financial fraud, as well as defended nonprofit organizations in regulatory investigations conducted by federal and state agencies. He also has counseled individual clients in white collar matters, including claims for forfeiture in rem and prospective liability under 18 U.S.C. §§ 1956, 1957.

Mr. Wilson has participated in trials, has appeared before federal and state courts in a variety of proceedings, and has represented clients in settlement negotiations and mediations.

Mr. Wilson graduated with high departmental honors from Franklin & Marshall College for his thesis titled, "The Impact of Technology and Terrorism on Fourth Amendment Jurisprudence." He also played varsity men’s soccer at Franklin & Marshall College where he served as a two-year captain.

Mr. Wilson leads the firm's participation in the Development School for Youth, a leadership and business training program for young people run by the nonprofit organization, All Stars Project Inc.
