2022 U.S. International Arbitration Review: A Report on Significant Judicial Decisions in the U.S.

Holland & Knight Program

Litigation attorneys Adolfo Jimenez, Brian Briz, Katharine Menendez de la Cuesta and Marisa Marinelli hosted a Holland & Knight hybrid event discussing judicial decisions in the United States. The attorneys analyzed the ramifications of these court decisions. Some of the topics discussed include federal courts lacking subject-matter jurisdiction to confirm or vacate an award, the U.S. Supreme Court's decision that only a governmental or an intergovernmental adjudicative body constitutes a "foreign or international tribunal," and Florida being in line with almost all federal circuits on arbitrators' implied power to decide arbitrability issues.
