Healthcare Reform: The Impact on State and Local Governments
With President Obama's recent signings of Public Law 111-148, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and Public Law 111-152, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, local governments are faced with many opportunities and challenges during the implementation phase of these historic laws.
The program is designed to provide current information about key programs and issues for county and city governments, as well as how each can influence the regulatory implementation process. Issues to be addressed include the role of local governments as employers and health care providers, as well as funding opportunities presented by the new laws.
