Emerging Environmental Issues in Native Communities (Part 1)

Native American Law Partner James Meggesto will speak on an Environmental Law Institute webinar titled "Emerging Environmental Issues in Native Communities." The panel will explore the current debates surrounding environmental protection in tribal and urban Indian communities. It will also focus on groundbreaking litigation, including the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) and repercussions for Indian sovereignty, Agua Caliente Band v. Coachella Valley Water District ruling and tribe’s water rights, and determining energy development and tribal jurisdiction in the context of fracking.
