This year's Firm General Counsel Summit brings together general counsel, ethics counsel and managing partners of small to midsize law firms. Attorneys from Holland & Knight's Legal Profession Team, including Allison Martin Rhodes and Peter Jarvis, will partner with industry professionals to lead interactive discussions providing relevant and practical insights into the challenges of managing risk at firms employing up to 250 lawyers.

Topics this year will include:

Navigating rapidly evolving technology in a law firm, including remote lawyering; Managing toxic rainmakers, including a discussion of the #metoo revolution and its impact on law firm culture and personnel management; New and best practices regarding fees, litigation finance, profitability and pricing legal services; Cutting-edge issues in data and cybersecurity including GDPR; Mechanics of offense and defense in conflict-based disqualification; The lifecycle of a claim, from incident through active litigation and resolution, including implementing lessons learned; and two breakout sessions addressing difficult issues in entity and individual client representation, respectively.

The summit will be held at The Hotel Lucia, a charming boutique hotel in the heart of Portland. Events will begin on the evening of October 31 with a welcome reception, followed by summit sessions on November 1 and 2. The agenda can be viewed here.

In order to assure the collaborative learning environment, space is limited to 50 participants.

Pricing:

$1,500 for both seminar days (November 1-2)

$800 to attend only one seminar day (either November 1 or November 2)
