International Trade and Arbitration attorney Antonia Tzinova will be moderating a panel hosted by The Washington Foreign Law Society at our Washington, D.C. office. The panel will discuss the recent U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to reverse established practice with respect to international organizations’ absolute immunity from U.S. lawsuits under the International Organizations Immunities Act. Professionals will look at relevant cases involving international organizations in the U.S. and in international communities, and examine the implications of the Supreme Court’s decision in Jam v. the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The panel features Ethiopis Tafara, Vice President and General Counsel of IFC; Mary Catherine Malin, Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Law and Litigation at the U.S. Department of State; and John Bellinger, Partner at Arnold & Porter, and former Legal Adviser at the U.S. Department of State.
