Federal Government Contracts: New SBA Certification Program for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses

Government Contracts attorney Erin Estevez will speak on a Strafford webinar panel discussing the Small Business Administration's (SBA) new certification program for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs).Some major changes that this program will bring include eliminating, after a one-year transition period, self-certification for VOSBs and SDVOSBs, as well as allowing VOSBs or SDVOSBs to enter into a joint venture agreement with one or more other small business concerns. It will also eliminate the requirements for a business to demonstrate "good character" to be VOSB or SDVOSB certified. This panel will go over the definitions and eligibility requirements of the new program and discuss the recent changes and joint venture considerations.
