Storm Surge: Insurance Gaps & Mortgage Risk
Compliance and Risk Management Conference, Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA)
Washington, D.C. 20001
Public Policy & Regulation attorney Ronnie Johnson will participate in the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) Compliance and Risk Management Conference, taking place in Washington, D.C. The conference convenes residential mortgage professionals nationwide to share guidance on new government lending practices, regulatory compliance and risk management, credit risk analysis and mitigation, underwriting and fraud prevention. Mr. Johnson will speak on the second day of the event in a session exploring financial risks and insurance gaps related to climate events. The increasing prevalence of natural disasters has made property insurance less affordable and consequently placed more pressure on mortgage lenders. Mr. Johnson will take a closer look at how the increasingly widespread impact of these events is affecting the mortgage and insurance industries as well as share strategies lenders can use to protect their portfolios and strengthen resilience.
