Protecting Kids Online: A Fireside Chat with Congressman Auchincloss

Data privacy attorneys Kevin Angle and Rachel Marmor will participate in a Boston Bar Association event featuring a fireside chat with Massachusetts Congressman Jake Auchincloss and a panel discussion among industry professionals. Coinciding with Data Privacy Day, the program will focus on children's privacy and data protection issues. Rep. Auchincloss will elaborate on his efforts to introduce or sponsor bills to strengthen oversight of social media platforms and expand safeguards for children online, including his most recent UnAnxious Generation package to address concerns about the ways social media has transformed children's lives and affected their mental health. After the conversation, speakers including Mr. Angle and Ms. Marmor will review other state and federal initiatives involving children's online privacy, from proposed legislation to enforcement expansion, as well as what companies and users can expect on the horizon.
