UT Law CLE
Suite 2500
Houston, Texas 77002
Maritime attorneys Agnes Doyle, Katia Leiva and Sean Pribyl will participate in the 34th Annual David W. Robertson Admiralty and Maritime Law Conference, hosted by UT Law CLE and taking place at Holland & Knight's Houston office. The conference will feature discussions on timely admiralty and maritime law issues affecting industry stakeholders and practitioners.
Ms. Doyle will present on General Average, the maritime risk-sharing doctrine under which voyage stakeholders can proportionally share losses tied to a voluntary sacrifice or expenditure made to preserve property during a voyage. She will discuss when the framework applies and highlight key rules surrounding it, as well as walk through real-world examples of its use, the role of adjusters and related insurance considerations.
Ms. Leiva will address ethics issues arising from the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in maritime practice, using contemporary scenarios to help identify and avoid common pitfalls. She will also share guidance on responsible AI use and explain how automation is reshaping ethical considerations across the sector.
Mr. Pribyl will speak on emerging legal and maritime policy developments, including U.S. shipbuilding initiatives, international trade pressures and regulatory shifts under the current administration. He will also address evolving legislative and regulatory actions affecting maritime operations and offer practical tips for navigating compliance challenges.
