Litigation attorney Peter Hardy will serve as both a co-chair and panel leader at the Practising Law Institute's (PLI) Anti-Money Laundering 2026 program exploring the evolving realm of anti-money launder (AML) due diligence and compliance. His panel will examine how historically separate AML and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) and sanctions regimes are now overlapping. Speakers will address shifting U.S. sanctions priorities, including the U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control's (OFAC) focus on conduct such as drug trafficking, corruption and organized crime as well as the resulting implications for compliance professionals. Mr. Hardy will also guide a discussion on key red flags related to sanctions and export controls evasion and recent enforcement actions, offering practical guidance for strengthening integrated, risk-based compliance programs as AML/CFT rules change and new enforcement initiatives take shape.
