Maritime attorney Sean Pribyl will speak at the 2026 Advanced Maritime Technology Expo and Conference in Amsterdam, a forum providing a collaborative platform for engagement on technological change across the maritime sector. Thousands of professionals and field experts will converge to explore innovative solutions and talk about the future of sustainable maritime technology. Mr. Pribyl will participate in two presentations during the conference. First, he will join a panel discussion on the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) new International Code of Safety for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS Code), a global framework for ensuring safety and security for remotely controlled or autonomous ships. His second session will focus on the United States' 2026 Maritime Action Plan (MAP), which recognizes autonomous and robotic vessels as essential for competitiveness and national security. Mr. Pribyl will provide an overview of the MAP, regulatory gaps it aims to address – including challenges related to crew requirements and certification standards – and its implications for autonomous systems, before transitioning to a Q&A.
