Litigation attorney Meredith Auten will teach a session during the virtual U.S. Healthcare Compliance Certificate Program hosted by Seton Hall University School of Law. The program immerses participants in the state, federal and international laws governing prescription drugs and medical devices along with overall fraud and abuse laws. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore case studies illustrating health law issues in the real world as well as join group problem-solving activities to analyze questions these regulations pose for practitioners. Ms. Auten will lead a session focused on the False Claims Act (FCA), specifically how healthcare providers should address whistleblower complaints and the proper channels to follow upon receiving notice of one. She will outline FCA compliance pitfalls, internal organization policies and procedures, and other tips for handling these scenarios.
