Leveraging Situs and Modern Trust Laws for Non-U.S. Families

Private Wealth Services attorney Shaina Kamen will speak at a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) New York program focused on how non-U.S. families can use U.S. trust jurisdictions to support flexible, multigenerational wealth planning. Shaina will discuss dynasty trusts, directed trusts and private family trust companies, with an emphasis on their interaction with family governance, asset protection, tax efficiency, charitable giving and responsible financial stewardship. She will also share practical considerations for designing trust arrangements, including beneficiary confidentiality provisions and the authority granted to trust protectors, to assist advisors in developing structures aligned with families' long-term goals.
