What Employers Should Know About New Mass. Pay Equity Law

Massachusetts enacted the most expansive pay equity law in the country on Aug. 1, 2016. While the law contains provisions similar to those recently enacted in other states, Massachusetts is the first state to prohibit employers from requiring job applicants to disclose their salary history while also establishing a safe harbor for employers performing self-evaluations of their pay practices.
