'Hey, You’re on Mute!' Dos and Don’ts of Remote Mediation

Litigation Attorneys Sara Begley and Dana Feinstein co-wrote an article published by The Legal Intelligencer offering tips for remote mediations. As more and more aspects of practice have gone digital because of the coronavirus pandemic, it's important for attorneys to be able to conduct effective mediations remotely. The authors present a series of do's and don'ts for these virtual procedures. Some of the do's include explaining the benefits of remote mediation to clients, carefully covering logistical concerns before the mediation and maintaining ethical standards. Some of the don'ts include sitting in bad lighting, forgetting to unmute/mute when appropriate and acting unprofessionally.
