Regulation and New Energy Models

Energy attorney Ernesto Guzmán published a column in Asuntos Legales about the presentation of the Indicative Plan for Expansion of Electric Energy Coverage (PIEC) by the Mining and Energy Planning Agency (UPME), which proposes various technological alternatives to expand energy access in rural and isolated areas in Colombia. Mr. Guzmán highlights the importance of an updated regulatory framework that facilitates the interconnection of hybrid systems, microgrids and distributed generation, promoting innovation in business models and ensuring environmental and social sustainability in the adoption of these new technologies.
