Beyond the Brief: Advising Clients in an AI-Driven Economy
Real Estate attorney Stephanie Sanchez authored an article for the Cuban American Bar Association's (CABA) CABA Briefs exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal profession. As this emerging technology continues to permeate sectors ranging from real estate to medicine, lawyers representing clients in these fields are increasingly expected to understand how AI is used so they can effectively fulfill their role of advisor and advocate. Ms. Sanchez emphasizes that the demand for attorneys who learn how clients harness AI in their day-to-day operations – for example, a hospital that employs AI technology to diagnose patients or perform administrative tasks – will only grow as organizations seek to increase efficiency through technology. Ultimately, she concludes, legal professionals who develop proficiency in AI will distinguish themselves and provide a richer advisory portfolio that incorporates knowledge of the ethical, economic and social factors underpinning clients' decisions.
