Co-Chair of the White Collar Defense Team John Brownlee was featured in a Law 360 article titled "Q&A With Holland & Knight's John Brownlee."
In the article, Mr. Brownlee discusses his work in white collar defense as an attorney with Holland & Knight, as well as his previous work as a United States attorney. When asked to name the accomplishment he is most proud of as an attorney, Mr. Brownlee identifies his successful prosecution as a United States attorney of defendant Brent Simmons for the 1996 execution-style murder of two James Madison University Students. "I consider myself a blessed man to be part of an outstanding law firm with honorable and dedicated attorneys," he said. "But I doubt I will ever feel the same sense of relief and satisfaction that I did on the evening of Feb. 17, 2005, when a jury of 12 citizens from Southwest Virginia found Brent Simmons guilty of two murders, sentenced him to a life sentence and offered justice to two innocent college students and their families."
