DC-Area Closings Small for Best Buy

Best Buy will only close one of its 20 DC-area stores—at Howard Hughes Corp-owned Landmark Mall in Alexandria—as part of its effort to cut costs. The company's decision to close stores is most likely a reflection of the big-box formula struggling against e-retailers," says Retail Development and Leasing Partner Janis Schiff. "My guess is that this is more a trimming than cutting. Other companies have done the same thing."
