Partner Miguel De Grandy represented the organizers of the Ultra Music Festival in discussions with Miami City Commissioners on the date and location of their 2019 festival after Ultra was booted from using its longtime home, Bayfront Park. Mr. De Grandy secured four out of the five votes to host the festival at the Virginia Key Beach Park on Mar. 29-31, 2019. The organizers of Miami Music Week will now pay the city $2 million for the use of the Miami Marine Stadium and Virginia Key Beach Park for the festival under the new agreement.
"The majority of the activity will be on the Miami Marine parcel. The other 20 to 25 percent will be in the Historic Virginia Key Beach area," Mr. De Grandy told the Daily Business Review.
