Prevent More Parallel Cards in T-MEC

Reforma

International and Cross Border Transactions Attorney Carlos Vejar was quoted in the Reforma article that discussed the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC) possibly adding parallel letters on the labor issue. Charter 232, which is already in the signing of T-MEC, represents the protection of passenger vehicles sent from Mexico to the United States.

Mr. Vejar states, “The letters or parallel agreements could be considered as political capital in the United States, in the sense that the Democrats would request them to Mexico or they would stop asking if Trump, for example, approves certain laws or changes his immigration policy.”
