There are prominent cases that have impacted government contracting law in 2019. One of the issues that affected how federal contractors operate, the Supreme Court decided to expand the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) protections, which covers confidential business information.
"This case really changes the way the government has to approach the provision of information to the general public," said Government Contracts attorney Eric Crusius.
He described the case as a "sea change" for FOIA law and that it often "flies under the radar" as FOIA is significant to government contracting work.
