In One Week the Relief Measures for Leases of Commercial Premises Expire

Attorney Esteban García-Jimeno was cited in an Asuntos Legales article in which he explains the rights of landowners and tenants in commercial leasing contracts. The Colombian National Government issued on June 4 the Decree 797 of 2020, which temporarily regulated the unilateral termination of commercial premises lease contracts for the activities most affected by the pandemic, such as bars, gyms and pools. However, these relief measures will only be in effect until August 31. It remains unclear what will happen when the measures end.
