Until the End of 2021 Works for Fracking Pilots Would Start

Energy Senior Counsel Inés Elvira Vesga was interviewed for a Portafolio article titled "Until the End of 2021 Works for Fracking Pilots Would Start." In this article, Ms. Vesga explains that Decree 328 of 2020 establishes a series of steps for fracking projects in Colombia, among them the issuance of an environmental license through the National Authority of Environmental Licences. She gives her opinion on the matter.
"It is fundamental for the [Colombian] Government to accompany the companies and to verify the timely processing of the licenses so that 2021 is the year in which these operations will start. With reliable and clear information on the tests, the Government itself will be able to make progress in energy sustainability," she said.
