EPA Nominee Set for Grilling Over Emission Plans
Public Policy & Regulation Group Leader Rich Gold spoke with the National Journal about the uncertain outcome of Joseph Goffman's nomination to lead the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Air and Radiation. Democrats have faced challenges in getting EPA nominees confirmed, and the process for Goffman is turning out to be one of the most difficult yet. Mr. Gold has been helping generate industry support for Goffman's nomination.
“This job at the EPA is probably the most difficult to confirm right now...I think he has the Democratic votes to get out of committee. I’m pretty sure,” He said. “I think the reality is they’re just going to take floor time on [all] of these nominations...That’s going to be the real challenge given that we’re down to what, 25 legislative days left?”
