Big Law in D.C. Sees Exponential Growth from Health Care Clients
Healthcare attorney Brent Hill spoke with The National Law Journal about the growth of legal work in the healthcare industry. The article explains that work related to the Inflation Reduction Act, among other federal policies, has kept law firms busy recently. Additionally, firms have made geographical expansions, mergers and new hires to expand their capabilities within life sciences and healthcare. The article notes Holland & Knight's recently completed combination with Nashville law firm Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis that roughly doubled the firm’s healthcare and life sciences industry group. Mr. Hill, chair of the newly created healthcare section, said healthcare mergers and acquisitions have been “incredibly busy” over the past decade.
“Over the last five to 10 years, healthcare has been a great space to invest in. Healthcare is a growing part of the economy. It’s continuing to be a larger and larger part of the nation’s GDP,” he said.
