Holland & Knight Adds Former Energy Dept Lawyer, as Law Firms See Demand in Clean Energy

The National Law Journal

Public Policy & Regulation attorney Ken Cestari was quoted in an article in The National Law Journal about his recent move to Holland & Knight. Mr. Cestari is the second former U.S. Department of Energy attorney to join the firm's Public Policy & Regulation Group after Elizabeth Noll. The article says following recent federal legislation and climate priorities from the Biden Administration, law firms have seen an uptick in work in the clean energy sector.

“The clean energy space has completely exploded,” Mr. Cestari said. “There’s a lot of development. There’s a lot of interest in whether people are developing new projects using existing technologies, and they’re trying to advance projects that are using new technologies.”

The article also goes on to describe Mr. Cestari’s work prior to joining Holland & Knight. He said that his transactional experience complements Holland & Knight's work with clients on securing government-backed financing.

“It’s complementary because it’s been great in attracting energy clients that want to take advantage of the federal funding programs,” he said. “I kind of understand what motivates the agencies in selecting applicants and what is important to them in the loan documentation.”
