A Big Opportunity Opens
Financial Services attorney Alejandro Landa was interviewed by Líderes Mexicanos about nearshoring opportunities in Mexico. The signing of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), along with the pandemic and the geopolitical movement to which it gave rise, represents a significant opportunity for the country to attract new investment. Mr. Landa commented that it is important for potential investors to have access to financing sources, and he highlighted that the arrival of Tesla in Mexico is a positive development. He also predicted that nearshoring will grow in the next few years.
"We are carrying out three processes for industries that come to Mexico, one for agriculture, another for automotive and a third for raw materials," he explained. "What we see is that there will be a much greater integration, where there will be newer and alternative sources of financies, financial factoring and cross-border financings. North American banks are taking as part of the elements to grant financing assets in Mexico."
