The article goes on to expand on separate instances of convictions made against individuals who partook in Medicare schemes. Mr. Yood provided insight on the examples cited and offered relevant guidance to healthcare clients on the repercussions of violating state and federal fraud laws.
“Sometimes, the biggest challenge that I face is to educate clients about the magnitude of the penalties and consequences that they face as an organization and as individuals if they participate in a fraudulent arrangement under any of the applicable healthcare fraud and abuse laws,” he said.
