Lawmakers Prepare National Security Pitch for Quantum Bill

Axios

Quantum Computing attorney Paul Stimers was quoted in an Axios article about lawmakers' introduction of legislation to help reauthorize the National Quantum Initiative Act. The bill is aimed to expand support for quantum research and development, emphasizing national security and economic security threats related to quantum technology. With an estimated cost of $3.6 billion over five years, it would focus on both near-term and long-term applications of quantum technology and balancing hardware and software development. Mr. Stimers believes that this legislation is crucial for promoting U.S. quantum leadership and a robust domestic quantum industry.

"The National Quantum Initiative has helped the U.S. quantum industry grow over the last five years, and it's time to take the next steps to promote U.S. quantum leadership," he said.
