Some BigLaw Firms Post Highest Lobbying Revenues Ever

Public Policy & Regulation Group Leader Rich Gold spoke with Law360 about Holland & Knight's thriving government relations practice and record-breaking lobbying revenues in 2023. The firm reported earnings of $48 million last year, up from $43.4 million in 2022. Mr. Gold noted that though election years like 2024 tend to slow major legislation, he expects regulatory and oversight work to remain robust, given issues like artificial intelligence (AI), tax reform and climate policy. He also highlighted that companies increasingly seek strategic guidance when navigating uncertain governance, saying that Holland & Knight's rapidly growing team is fully equipped to take on the appropriations, investigations and complex policy landscape in 2024 and beyond.

"Major companies are looking for help on how to achieve their goals, like decarbonization [and] technology development, and to partner with government in an era where government is an uncertain entity and changes very significantly now depending on who's in power," Mr. Gold said.
