The U.S. Is Flooded with Fake Botox. Here's What to Watch Out for.
Healthcare attorney Sam Louis was quoted in a New York Times article about the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) crackdown on counterfeit Botox doses and injections from unlicensed providers. Federal and state officials are investigating illnesses across 11 states linked to improperly administered or fake Botox products. Mr. Louis commented on the risks consumers encounter because of the wide range of websites selling and promoting products linked to these illnesses.
"If you go online and Google for Botox sources, most of the time, that's not going to be a legitimate source," he cautioned.
