How Whistleblowing Is Fueling Law Firm Growth
Litigation attorney Michael Hantman was quoted in a Law360 article discussing the trend of increased whistleblower activity. A recent report from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) said the agency saw a 50 percent increase in tips received last year compared to 2020 and 2021. Mr. Hantman pointed out that the growth is driven by the substantial rewards available to whistleblowers, including a new program from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), making it crucial for companies to strengthen their compliance programs. This development aims to reduce the chance of corporate misconduct remaining undetected.
"The numbers are demonstrating that whistleblowing is on the rise, and the reality is that there are enormous incentives now for whistleblowers. The odds of improprieties staying quiet have significantly lessened," he said
