Government Has 12 Days to Approve Social Reforms
Labor, Employment and Benefits attorney Camilo Cuervo was interviewed by La República about the social and economic reform package presented by Colombia's National Government. Currently these reforms are under debate in the Chamber of Representatives. Mr. Cuervo commented with respect to the pension reform, emphasizing the legislature has little time to approve it.
"The opposition, including parties attuned to the government, are promoting censure motions against various Petro functionaries, against the ministers, specifically the heads of health and defense. In this sense the time is very short, and any hearing, any interruption of the time that occurs, in the specific case of the pension reform, it would sink it," he said.
