These Are the Legal Challenges for EPS Amid the Healthcare Sector Crisis
Revista Semana
Bogotá Executive Partner Enrique Gómez-Pinzón was interviewed by Revista Semana about the legal challenges faced by Health Promoting Entities (EPS) amid the healthcare sector crisis in Colombia. The article noted that EPS could disappear completely with possible sector reforms if they simply become managers of administrative functions without providing medical services. Mr. Gómez-Pinzón warned that another risk is the saturation of some EPS as a result of the withdrawal, intervention, or liquidation of others, which would affect the quality and timeliness of services.
"It is evident that these types of processes affect the quality and timeliness of services and constitute the beginning of the generation of negative chain effects, mainly in relation to the network of health providers," he said.
