Private Credit on the Cusp of a Second Act as the Demand for Debt Investment Soars

Keith Sambur, co-leader of the firm's Private Credit practice, was featured in an Alternatives Watch article examining the growing prominence of private credit in today's lending environment. Reflecting on the evolution of this area, he observed that 20 years ago when he began practicing, private lenders were seen as a lender of last resort, but changes in banking regulations and technology, combined with the rise of the service-based economy, made it more challenging for banks to lend. This, he explained, created opportunities for private credit lenders to change that narrative and become primary lenders.
