Financial Services attorney Camilo Gantiva Hidalgo was interviewed by Asuntos Legales about what to do upon noticing a transaction that you do not recognize or a movement of money in your bank account that you did not authorize. The article recommended first reaching out to your bank or another financial institution about the anomaly and requesting a freeze on your credit and debit cards as well as the affected account. Mr. Gantiva Hidalgo added that it's also advisable to enroll with credit information portals such as Datacrédito, TransUnion and Cifin to receive notifications about the openings of new products or obligations. He also explained it's possible to recover lost money if the Attorney General determines the existence of a crime and orders restitution measures.
