Experts Highlight Colombia's Role in Latin America's Mergers and Acquisitions Market

Bogotá Executive Partner Enrique Gómez-Pinzón was interviewed by Revista Semana about Colombia's performance in the Latin American mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market in 2025. Mr. Gómez-Pinzón, who focuses his practice on corporate and M&A matters, explained that although the total number of deals declined, Colombia remained among the region's leading markets and gained traction through higher impact transactions driven by major conglomerates with a regional footprint, as well as strategic investments in the financial system. He also noted that the macroeconomic and regulatory environment has influenced how and where these transactions have been executed, and he emphasized that sectors such as infrastructure and construction could regain momentum if confidence and regulatory stability strengthen.

"We saw significant ownership restructurings of economic groups led by some of Colombia's most important business groups," he said.
