Sweetwater City Commission Approves Flagler Center District
Real Estate attorney Alejandro Arias was cited in a CRE South Florida Sources article on the newly approved Flagler Center District, a master-planned community set for development in Sweetwater, Florida. The Sweetwater City Commission approved amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan and various land use and zoning ordinances to create a new Flagler Center District land use category and zoning district and thus allow the project to move forward. Situated in the center of Miami-Dade County, the development will encompass thousands of residential units as well as hundreds of square feet of retail, office, medical and commercial space.
Mr. Arias represents developer CREI Holdings and led the way in obtaining zoning and entitlement approvals. He said the city's move marks "the most significant step forward for this development" and thanked councilmembers for their thoughtful consideration of what he called a transformative project for the area.
