Rich Gold on K Street 'Disruption' Over His Decades in Lobbying

Rich Gold, leader of the firm's Public Policy & Regulation Group, was featured in a Bloomberg Law article examining how K Street and the lobbying industry have evolved throughout the course of his career. The article reflected on major shifts in Washington, D.C. – increased partisanship, changes to congressional processes and the growing role of technology – while highlighting Mr. Gold's leadership in building Holland & Knight into one of the nation's top lobbying practices. He emphasized that trust, credibility and seasoned judgment remain central to effective advocacy, regardless of what happens at the political and technological level.

"Somebody has to trust you. You have to have solid facts, a good argument and you need to be able to communicate with them and have a reputation that they are going to accept your side of the story when they're weighing it against other people's points of view," he said.
