NEW YORK (June 16, 2015) – Holland & Knight announced today that corporate attorney Amy Leder has joined the firm as a partner in its New York office. She comes to Holland & Knight from McDermott Will & Emery, where she headed the firm’s New York corporate practice.
Ms. Leder advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, strategic alliances, capital raising transactions and general corporate matters. She handles transactions such as representation of underwriters and issuers in public offerings of equity and debt, divestitures, strategic investments and joint ventures. She also regularly acts as outside securities counsel to public companies in connection with periodic reporting and other securities law matters, corporate governance matters, and employee benefit and executive compensation issues.
"Amy has more than 20 years of experience counseling clients ranging from startups to U.S. and international public companies," said James McDermott, head of Holland & Knight’s Business Section. "She is a highly skilled attorney, a natural leader and an excellent addition to our corporate practice in New York."
"I was particularly attracted to Holland & Knight because of its vibrant culture of friendly cooperation and cross-selling, which will provide a strong platform on which to meet the increasingly broad range of legal needs of my clients," said Ms. Leder. "I look forward to working with the corporate team in New York to expand the practice’s share of a very competitive legal market."
Ms. Leder received a J.D. degree, with distinction, from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.A. degree from Vassar College.
