Holland & Knight Earns Top Rankings in Colombia, Mexico and Latin America-Wide from Legal 500
MIAMI (September 28, 2015) – Holland & Knight is recommended as one of the top international law firms in Colombia and Mexico in The Legal 500 Latin America 2015 edition. The firm is commended for its excellent service and knowledge across many practices and industry sectors.
In Colombia, Holland & Knight is recommended in the areas of corporate/M&A, energy, dispute resolution, and labor and employment with several lawyers noted for their excellence, including Partners Enrique Gómez-Pinzón, José Vicente Zapata, Juan Carlos Valencia, and Vicente Umaña.
According to the guide, “Since opening an office in Bogotá in 2012, Holland & Knight has developed a ‘respectable’ and well-rounded corporate practice, led by the ‘celebrated’ Enrique Gómez-Pinzón and strengthened recently by the arrival of energy specialist José Vicente Zapata, who is ‘highly responsive and a great lawyer.’”
Holland & Knight’s Mexico office received recommendations in the areas of banking and finance, capital markets and energy. Partners Boris Otto, Alejandro Landa, Guillermo Uribe, Antonio Casares and José Antonio Prado received praise along with Senior Counsel Carlos Ochoa and Daniel Jimenez and Associate Adrián Gay.
The guide noted that “Holland & Knight has ‘hit the ground running’ since opening its Mexico office in 2013, not least in capital markets work, where the experience of Alejandro Landa and Boris Otto position the firm strongly in the niche area of working with state entities.”
The firm also fared well among international firms doing business in Latin America with recommendations in the areas of corporate/M&A and banking and finance. Bogotá-based Partner Enrique Gómez-Pinzón was once again singled out for his notable work. Miami-based Partners Jose Sirven and Roberto Pupo and New York-based Partners Stephen Double and Xavier Ruiz were also mentioned for their impressive legal skills.
According to the guide, “Holland & Knight has entered the Latin America banking and finance market with some distinction…The firm is ‘exceptional,’ and provides ‘great industry knowledge’ and ‘excellent client service.’”
