DENVER (September 12, 2016) – Holland & Knight attorneys Shawn Turner and David Lisko are among Law Week Colorado's "Barrister's Best" for 2016. They were selected "Best Banking Lawyer" and "Best Sports and Entertainment Lawyer" respectively.
Mr. Turner, who is the executive partner of Holland & Knight's Denver office, practices in the areas of securities law, mergers and acquisitions, financial institution regulation, and public and private company corporate governance. His practice focuses primarily on bank and non-bank financial institutions, investment banks serving those institutions and financial technology companies. Mr. Turner is the board chair for the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics in Boulder, Colo., and the board vice chair for AllHealth Network, Inc. (formerly known as Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network).
Mr. Lisko serves as an agent to multiple professional athletes, as a pseudo general counsel to current and former professional athletes in litigation and corporate matters, and as outside counsel to professional sports teams and related companies. He is a certified National Football League Players Association contract advisor and president of the Sports Business and Leadership Association, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to being an affinity group for young professionals working in sports and raising funds to send underprivileged children to sports camps. In addition to sports law, Mr. Lisko focuses his practice on litigation in state and federal courts.
