Fibra UNO Joint Venture Obtains $300 Million Green Loan to Build New Skyscraper
MEXICO CITY (April 11, 2022) – Holland & Knight advised a co-investment vehicle of Fibra UNO, Mexico's largest real estate investment trust, in connection with a $300 million green credit facility from a syndicate of banks including Banco Santander, BBVA, HSBC, Banco Sabadell, Banregio and Intercam Banco. The transaction closed on March 18.
Fibra UNO and its partner Helios, a listed fund (CKD), plan to use the funds to finalize the building and development of Mitikah, a premier urban neighborhood in the cultural heart of Mexico City, which includes a skyscraper named Torre Mitikah. The building is set to obtain an Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) Certificate, which is awarded to projects that reduce energy and water consumption and minimize the energy footprint of the construction materials.
