Veteran Lobbyist Michael Warner Joins Holland & Knight as It Expands State and Local Government Advocacy Services into Texas
AUSTIN, Texas (June 24, 2024) – Holland & Knight welcomes Michael Warner as a senior policy advisor in the Public Policy & Regulation Group in Austin, Texas. Mr. Warner brings more than 25 years of government affairs experience at the state, local and federal levels of government. Most recently, Mr. Warner was the leader of Spencer Fane's Texas Governmental Affairs Group. Mr. Warner will lead and grow Holland & Knight's newly created Texas Government Advocacy Team.
Mr. Warner's work involves consistently leveraging knowledge of the political process along with building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. This includes crafting policies at all levels of government on a number of issues, including the protection of natural resources, insurance, affordable housing and a variety of business issues. Additionally, Mr. Warner spent time working for several legislators, a member of Congress and a former governor of Texas.
Locally, Mr. Warner is a past chair of the Water and Wastewater Commission for the City of Austin, and formerly a commissioner on the Electric Utility Commission for the City of Austin.

Mr. Warner earned a J.D. degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University and a B.A. degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
