Executive Compensation and Benefits Attorney Shira Selengut Joins Holland & Knight's New York Office
NEW YORK (April 13, 2026) – Holland & Knight has fortified its Executive Compensation and Benefits Team with the addition of Partner Shira Selengut in New York. She was previously a partner with Katten Muchin Rosenmann LLP.
"We are thrilled to welcome Shira to our Executive Compensation and Benefits Team," said Sean Sullivan, co-practice group leader of the Firm's Tax, Executive Compensation and Benefits Practice. "Shira's substantial experience advising on executive compensation and other employee benefits issues arising in complex transactions, particularly those involving private equity, will be an invaluable asset."
Ms. Selengut's practice focuses primarily on the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), employee benefits and executive compensation. She regularly advises financial institutions, private equity sponsors and investment funds on ERISA's plan asset, fiduciary responsibility and prohibited transaction rules.
Her experience also includes advising public and private companies and private equity firms on the design and implementation of annual and long-term incentive plans, equity and equity-based compensation arrangements, employment and separation agreements, and severance and retention programs. She also counsels clients on the tax implications of their compensation structures and provides guidance on the application of securities laws, labor and employment laws, and other laws governing hiring, workforce reduction, restrictive covenants and related issues.
"Holland & Knight is widely regarded as a leading M&A firm that handles a significant volume of corporate transactions, and I am pleased to be joining such a successful team," Ms. Selengut said. "As shareholder pressure, regulation, labor market competition and evolving governance expectations continue to reshape the landscape, it is critical for clients to understand how these factors may affect their businesses. I look forward to leveraging my experience to help clients navigate these issues and contribute to the Firm's continued success."
Ms. Selengut received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and her B.S. from Rutgers Business School.
